Our Mission:

Back Columbus Blue is a non-partisan group of citizens dedicated to supporting our community's public safety personnel through fundraising, equipment donations, public appreciation events, and educational scholarships.

We believe that those who put their lives on the line every day deserve our unwavering support. Our organization works tirelessly to ensure that Columbus's finest know they are valued and appreciated by the community they serve.

Our flagship fundraising event brings together community members, businesses, and first responders for a day of friendly competition and support.

4th Annual Back Columbus Blue Golf Tournament

Event Details

Date: October 2, 2025

Location: Bull Creek Golf Course, Columbus, GA

Join us for our biggest fundraiser of the year! This scramble-format tournament offers a fun day of golf while supporting our local heroes. Enjoy special competitions including Longest Drive, Hole In One, and Closest to Pin challenges.

Schedule

  • Morning Check In: 7:00am – 8:15am
  • Morning Tee Time: 8:30am
  • Lunch and Awards: 12:30pm – 1:30pm
  • Afternoon Check In: 12:00pm – 1:15pm
  • Afternoon Tee Time: 1:30pm

Your sponsorship directly supports Columbus's first responders and their families while promoting your business to the community. Additional sponsorship levels available, including Silver ($1,000), Local Sponsor ($1,000), and Sponsor Sign ($100).

First Responders Educational Scholarship Program

Back Columbus Blue is committed to helping the children and spouses of public safety personnel pursue higher education. Our scholarship fund helps offset tuition costs and supports the future leaders of our community.

Who Can Apply?

  • Members of Columbus Police Department, Fire Department, Muscogee County Sheriff's Department, or Columbus EMS
  • Spouses currently enrolled or seeking enrollment in accredited higher education
  • Dependent children (seniors in high school or older) who have applied to accredited institutions

Scholarship Program Timeline

Applications Available

July 14, 2025

Scholarship applications become available to eligible first responders and their families throughout Columbus, GA.

Submission Deadline

August 1, 2025

All application materials must be submitted, including the 300-500 word essay and proof of enrollment or acceptance.

Recipients Selected

August 8, 2025

Our committee reviews applications and selects recipients based on need, merit, and dedication to educational goals.

Checks Issued

August 15, 2025

Scholarship funds are distributed to selected recipients to help with educational expenses for the upcoming academic year.
